Crepe Myrtle Fall Pruning.

Taylor Creek, FL(Zone 10a)

How do I prune my CMs for the best blooms next year?
Also the blooms all matured very quickly this year. Is the anything I can do to extend the bloom time?
They are heavy with spent buds.
Mine are Tuscarora's and are approximately 10' tall.
Any info is appreciated.

With paper scissors.

sugar, cut anything smaller than a pencil off, but wait until February. If you haven't shaped them into a tree, they'll stay shrublike, so keep that in mind if you want one or the other.

The only thing that will extend the bloom time is Mother Earth, as far as I know.

But for fall pruning, Resin is right.

Birds love the spent buds, so they will be put to good use. Prune in February if you absolutely must.

Sidney they bloom on new growth. Cut out all suckers and cross branches.
Prune to the shape you want. They will bound back fast. The blooms will last longer if pruned.
