my rock border

YES, the gravel with semi circle is the current house.

The only reason I linked back to this thread was to show the picket "gate" that is moveable for staging.

I love the rock border! Can you just pick up rocks on those rocky beaches up there? Or in the mountains? Always looking for anything that makes me happy that my hubby wants to retire to Bellingham, Washington. So tell the truth- is it true about the rain? do you or don't you get lots of sunshine? LOL! We debate this all the time > He only visits his Mom when the weather is good, but my son was stationed up there and swore the weather depressed him and he's never going back.

Bellingham... that is NORTH of Seattle. Seattle gets LOTS of rain. I live on the Eastern side of the state and we are DESERT with LOTS of sunshine. when they named this stated the Evergreen state they pretty much ignored the East side! (Don't get me started on the whole ignore the East side!! LOL)

I sincerely recommend you set your computer to watch the weather in the area you are thinking about and check it regularly! Even open up and look in one of the weather cams.

I lived in Portland OR, which has weather very much like Seattle and I hated it for all the reasons your son sited. Beautiful green but can you stand the rain? The gloom? The first year, I pulled my leather western boot (for horse back riding ) out from under the bed and they had MOLDED, I cried. For me... you can keep the green if it means all that rain and gloom, I can't stand it. We have irrigation here, if you don't water it, it won't grow. I can live with that!

EVERY time I drove back home to the East side I'd forget and have to buy another pair of sunglasses, the difference is THAT much. Every time we would go back to Portland for continuing education etc we'd forget to bring an umbrella and get stuck buying another one.
