Tetley, you're officially off my "shark tooth" menu. I have 4 Shar Pei. Tuffy(the dad), Blondie(the mom) (guess what color she is) and Susan Hayward(daughter, redhead like her dad) and Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds(daughter, lighter red and not full of porcupine quills as of yesterday). I've raised 4 litters and ran out of the best homes so all are neutered, microchipped and the loveliest kids on the block.
Neighbors dogs ganged up on my Plymouth Rock.
Did you know what shar pei really means? The name "Shar-Pei" itself literally means "sand-skin", but translated more loosely as "rough, sandy coat" or "sand-paper-like coat" and refers to the two distinctive qualities of the Shar-Pei coat - roughness and shortness

Sure do and I specified the "Brush Coat" rather than the "Horse coat" which is pricklier, I wanted to hug my kids with the softer coat. And how about the other standards which go: Ears point to eyes and anus points to the sky. LOL
You gotta love a dog that keeps his "wyw" on the sky. Learned more about shar peis than I ever knew before. Thanks!
