Like ugly on an ape.
crocuses and rats
YUCK!
OMG OMG OMG that UGLY!!!! Ewwwwww!!!!!! Now the nightmares will come!
That has got to be the most disgusting thing I ever saw. And, here i sit..watching disgusting creature movies on Saturday tv. UGH!!!!!!
No kidding eh jsxtiger. I don't think I have ever seen a horror film that had something that ugly in it!!! Ewwwww here I go again - I hate rats!!!!
that is really bad!
My dog just caught a mouse in the garage
Too funny!
I still saw eeeeeeewwwww grossness (if that is a word hehe)
I don't scroll up to see it anymore. Most creatures have some redeeming feature but that rat lost out on all counts.
Well I know somebody who thinks he is beautiful!! NOT ME!!
thanks for all the rat posts. I have a plot in Boston's Fenway ( one of the old famed Victory Gardens). I can hear the cheers for a Sox hit). Tried tomatoes one year: rats waited for peak ripeness and then got 'em all. Now have achillea, rudbeckia, physostegia, hosta, daylillies: have'nt seen a rat all year. Fenway is definitely alternative gardening: first warm day of 2006 the guys across the fence invited me over, broke out a six-pack, and passed some joints, Eat your hearts out suburbanites
Are the rats into weed too??
I hope so - rats gotta live too
Did someone bring up rats again?? Ewwwwww!!!
So we're not talking about crocuses anymore?
Harper are you surprised!! ;)
Rats are more interesting.
The way your mind works is what is interesting Victor!!
I'm not convinced it does.
EWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That's the ugliest thing I've ever seen giving me the heebie jeebies! Thanks a lot!!!!!!My hubby used to do some work at a supermarket stoarge facility and they have rats there they called wooly monmouths. Huge with really long fur...will not be posting a pic(even if I had one)
Thanks, Jen!
Remind me not to shop there - would be wondering about the 'sirloin'.
.........and the free capers!
Ratatouille!!!!!!!!
I don't even want to see that movie even though I have seen just about every kid movie out there LOL Rats!!! Ewwwww!!!
Yes, Victor, absolutely yes!
Right.
I think Victor wants to put some real rat in the recipe. In that event I'd RATher not have it. Otherwise it's a wonderful mix of vegetables and flavors.
Never had it actually.
Is ratatouille gooey?
Think of eggplant and vegetables in layers and you'll be on the right track. I guess you could make it as gooey as you wanted.......or not.
Was just going for the rhyme! I'm sure I would like it. What other veggies are used?
zucchini and tomatoes i think.
i had a friend who had 2 pet rats (named Love and Rockets). This was in the late 80s, when guys wore those Bugle Boy pants with all the big pockets, and the rats would ride in them. (He always said that Rockets was ok but look out, Love bites) It was pretty cute actually - i don't mind rodents as pets.
I had squirrels get into the kitchen of a 2nd floor apt i had in St. Louis - got thru the screen door - yeeesh, what a mess. Never thought they were too cute again. Rats with furrier tails. That bald rat is pretty ugly - i don't get the hairless animal fad - i've seen the cats, and i just feel so bad for them!

Just one of probably a thousand or more recipes. It wouldn't matter if you left something out. It probably would work just as well in a casserole in the oven.
INGREDIENTS:
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 cloves garlic, crushed and minced
1 large onion, quartered and thinly sliced
1 small eggplant, cubed
2 green bell peppers, coarsely chopped
4 large tomatoes, coarsely chopped, or 2 cans (14.5 ounces each) diced tomatoes
3 to 4 small zucchini, cut into 1/4-inch slices
1 teaspoon dried leaf basil
1/2 teaspoon dried leaf oregano
1/4 teaspoon dried leaf thyme
2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
PREPARATION:
In a 4-quart Dutch oven or saucepan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add garlic and onions and cook, stirring often, until softened, about 6 to 7 minutes. Add eggplant; stir until coated with oil. Add peppers; stir to combine.
Cover and cook for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally to keep vegetables from sticking.
Add tomatoes, zucchini, and herbs; mix well. Cover and cook over low heat about 15 minutes, or until eggplant is tender but not too soft.
Serves 4.
Thanks Pirl!
Bon Appetit! (I wish I could have Julia say it for you)
Ugh!
Rats and food in the same thread. I have a different outlook now.
