In Flagstaff, Arizona, Coconino County, Summertime
Very likely in the Oedemeridae Family.
Sitting on an Oxeye Daisy.
CLOSED: Beetle
I see records on the web for an Asclera excavata in the west, but the only pictures I have found are diagrams of certain parts, like the antennnae... which didn't rule your beetle out. That's all I can come up with
How about this one?
Red-necked False Blister Beetle - Asclera ruficollis

There aren't any records of them out west, though. When you click on info, sometimes there's 'range' information. Other sites too. I was googling 'Asclera Arizona' etc., didn't get too far
