CLOSED: Mole Cricket of some sort

Columbia, SC

I've managed to figure out that it is a mole cricket but can't figure out which species. I was leaning towards short wing based on the useless looking wings but the coloration of the head has no discernable pattern other than two small stripes in the middle running front to back. All species have some sort of stripe on the back of the head so this isn't much help. Maybe it is a nymph and doesn't yet have its pattern developed. Can anyone help get more specific? My kids and I are trying to figure it out. Thanks.

Did you see this site in your ID search? There's a link to an ID key :

It looks like the ID's are based on the front 'paws', but they're hard to see in your picture... maybe it's still around and you can get a better look?

I've been searching around and the Tawny Mole Cricket looks very close, there is a map of it's location. The wings are short and this may be due to immaturity or sex difference, I followed a link to those similar to the Short winged Mole Cricket. The feet on yours can't be seen of course, but the general markings look more or less the same.

Thanks for the help to both of you. Based on the info found at the links provided I would go with an immature Tawny Mole Cricket - Scapteriscus vicinus. Time to add bugguide.net to my favorites under Daves Garden. Again thanks for the help.
