Hi Anne,

I`m so glad you like these. That pattern I think is caused by moisture making little pinkish purple marks while the flower is opening and it does look cool. The color is a interesting shade of blue that did get my attention.

It will be interesting to see if they can be mainatined or carried on. It is possible with some work such as hand pollinating and selecting they could become consistent and come true from seeds. Karen

I've caught some of those purple overtones in blues right after the bloom opens. It seems to fade after the bloom is in full sun for a while. It is interesting to keep in mind that the color of an MG is changing throughout the day, maybe a signal to pollinators?
