CLOSED: Black and yellow caterpillar?

Piedmont, OK

These guys just showed up one morning. They are in the grass and crawling on the brick on the side of my house. My kids gathered up about 50 of them in five mintues. I would really love to know what they are!?! HELP

They might be Army Worms.

I don't think they look like army worms. Hope not:

In the meantime, I found a neat site for identifying caterpillars. Ahorst, do any of these look like what you have?

How about the Clouded Sulphur and Alfalfa Butterfly?

Count how many prolegs they have (pairs of legs in the center of their body). Most caterpillars only have 4 pairs of prolegs. This kinda looks like a sawfly larva to me. Sawfly larvae have more than 4 pairs of prolegs.

From the photo, I only see 4.

I can't see any, just two right-side thoracic legs - I was thinking maybe sawfly, or a skipper with that knobby head. But the quantity of them...?!

ahorst22, any more pics of this critter?
