Just wondering if this has ever happened to anyone? I thought I recognized a MG pic from Solana seeds that is mine from a few years back. You can even see that it isn't from a very good camera. I was just going through some old pics and low and behold it is mine...
When someone uses one of you pictures
That's rude. Did you let them know that it's yours?
Anne
Luvs was it accessed thru DG? If so, you might post the question in the DG forum. http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/f/dg/all/
I'm thinking that is bad form to hijack your photo...
Is DG where it was taken from?
If they took it from DG, Terry can do something. I've had it happen and Terry was a great help. I even had to do battle with eBay to get a photo of mine posted here taken down.
It's copyright infringement. We are smallfry, so people pretty much know if they can risk pinching it. I would definitely shoot back, and I am looking into the issue of using water marks in the future. It reduces the value of a photo to me personally, however, great artists also put their names on their paintings...[I don't like that either...]
Yes it was one of them is from Dave's, I guess the other 2 are from post...I haven't emailed the company yet but I will.
Rev I will contact Terry, thanks.
Here is the site that it is on, http://solanaseeds.netfirms.com/flowers.html
scroll down to 'ipomoea split blue and you will see them..
Here it is in plant files http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/69647/
Incidently, they are in the Garden watchdog. Maybe you could notate this too?
Thanks Pod I will...
I have two copies of each picture and one has the mark and the other doesn`t. The one without the mark is my original. The one with the mark is the one I use when sharing on the internet to prevent people from stealing my images. The DG watermark is too easy to crop out of the pictures so I put in my own. I`d rather not deal with that at all so I resize and mark the pictures I share while also saving the original untouched picture. I think license plates on cars are very ugly but obviously they are a necessity.

Yes, that happened to me. I emailed the seller and she felt so bad that I ended up telling her she could go ahead and use it. I did tell her to get permission before she used anyone else's.

Beth, That was very nice of you. Karen
Just wanted to say Solana Seeds has removed my pictures. I emailed them and said I thought I should have credit and compensation for them since I hadn't given them permission and I knew where they copied them from and the mailed me back and said they were removed. Funny thing is they weren't very good quality photos to begin with!!
I guess it's time for a good watermark!!!
I just looked at the photo of split blue on the Solana site here
http://solanaseeds.netfirms.com/splitblue2.jpg
and I see a totally(!) different bloom than is posted to the PlantFiles here
