Water restrictions in So. Cal.

Last week, here in Long Beach, the city made a request for us to conserve water and NOT to water after 6:00 a.m. and only after 7:00 p.m. This applies only to potable water. You have to ask for water in restaurants now, too.

They also firmly requested people to ck. their sprinkler systems for overspray and run-off.

They are NOT issuing fines (yet) but may, if people don't cooperate. It's basically on the honor system for now.

Anyone else live where they are making such "requests" ?

I heard Fallbrook has done something similar also. I haven't heard anything yet in San Diego, but it's probably only a matter of time.

I was living in Inland Empire area few years back...

It has new rules for water don't not wash car on driveway only for plants need water.... It will fine and put in water bill that I have heard some new rule in city now.... Very Restricted...

Great, they wait until the days get shorter and then say water after 7pm. As if the situation just suddenly arrived. We water mostly by hand and I do not wander around on our property in the dark. The rest of it is common sense, which I am amazed so few people have. Like the homes on the hill across from us that set their sprinklers off at the hottest part of the day - and aim them at the sky. Sheesh! Of course, we picked this year to build a pond, so we are not blameless, but we do try to conserve everywhere else so we can have it. Drought is a fact of life in California, and all the little things we can do should be a way of life, not special rules now and then.

And while I'm ranting, the cities should be planting more natives, too! There, I feel better. :-)

Hey Guys;I live in Venice, and have No such restrictions.A "novel idea" would be to go after Illegal alien gardener's and make them stop sweeping sidewalks with jet-spray attachments on hoses.Just a thought.

I heard about gas-power blower is legal which make pollute (keep the environment clean air) that will be fine! Use only electric blower or some cordless power tools too!

Out there is very nice and clean...
