Growing Snow

Saint Helen, MI(Zone 5a)

My snow grew from 20" to 32" overnight! And I hear it is supposed to grow another 2-4" today. What am I going to do! I put Roundup on some of it this morning but it just keeps growing. I don't think the roundup did anything.
I even tried digging it up this morning. I piled the snow I dug up on the growing snow. The snow I dug up just keeps growing. And the snow has already come back up where dug it up at!

Help! any ideas?

Sari, here in the deep south, we have trouble growing snow. I don't even try anymore. I tried pushing the zone limit, but alas, no luck! We mix 100% humity with equal parts rain. Double dig the muggies and voila: no snow. Hope this helps...sending warm 80* thoughts to you today! Lisa

Ugh... whatever weather goes thru Sari comes my way. I didn't want to know that! High of 34 today, with high winds. Great, last time we had high winds, (and I do mean high), we were without power for 24 hours. I had to work in the dark, after the police let me through the roadblock cuz trees were down in front of our office. But telling people that you work for the American Red Cross has a way of getting you through barriers. It's supposed to be around 60 tomorrow, which will be an absolute mess with as much snow as we have, plus rain. And that will cause ice jams, which will cause me to be at work a long time! Oh well, must be spring's coming!

We have snow coming down right now here in the pacific north west. Very tiny flakes and coming down real slow but it's snow! And to think I laughed when they said the groundhog said 6 more weeks of winter! We hadn't had 6 weeks of winter yet! Guess we'll get it all now! :( Joy

I think we all are having some bad cabin fever! Mine is better today -- rain & 60* Still seen some snow driving my son to school. Colder again tomorrow - mid 30's. Now they are talking ice storm soon. UUUGH! All I want to do is go out and remove the sod where my new gardens will be!! I guess I'll have to wait! Too muddy now. If we get this ice storm it could very well send me over the edge....

We have been outside for the last 3 hours trying to get the truck out of the driveway. Our driveway is about 150ft long. We are within 40 feet but the plow trucks have such a huge pile we can't get out. We shovel it they go by widening the road and pile it backup. I live on a state highway that's why they plow so much. The guy that usually plows me out just happens to be out of town. It's supposed to start raining tonight and the turn back to freezing rain and snow friday afternoon/evening. I am worried that we might lose electric. I have 36 flat of flowers that need light and heat.
I still wouldn't trade this for those hot muggy summers in the south.

Sari, I know how you feel. We got 25" in this area on Tuesday, some parts of NH got over 3 feet! More predicted for tonight (along with sleet and freezing rain). Enough already!

Just heard the forcast. It's going to 40 degrees tonight with 1/2 to 1" of rain and thunderstorms mixed with freezing rain. So we now have a flood watch for tonight and tomorrow. The rain tomorrow is going to turn to freezing rain, sleet and then snow. The snow is expect to be 2-4inches with additional accumulation friday night and saturday. Oh with high winds too! So if you don't hear from me for a while I got washed away in the flood, lost electric in the freezing rain, got buried in the snow, or decided to hibernate till spring!
