This guy was dodging the water from the hose this afternoon. He looks sort of like a Katydid, but I've never seen a brown one before.

CLOSED: CLOSED: Katydid? Odd color.
It's one of the Conehead Katydids, probably genus Neoconocephalus. N. retusus and N. triops are good bets for the range and time of year; there may be others.
