Nadine - Oh my! What a show you have going on in your garden!!!! They are all gorgeous!!! Love the little Yojiro!!! So pretty!

You are fortunate like me to be in zone 9b. How long does your growing season last before you see the temps drop to almost freezing?

This is my first year growing MGs ... how long do the seeds stay viable? You mentioned that you'd received the seeds from Emma a few years ago. Maybe someone here can educate me...... :-)

My seeds were purchase about 2 or 3 years ago before my mom had passed away..My mom and I was gonna make colored trees with MG flowers..so I bought them and then she suddenly went down hill from there and never got the chance to see them bloom..I put them in a dark cool closet I had..and decided to start her dream..I put 2 kinds in birdcages..I posted one of them and the other one hasn't bloomed for me yet but vining all over the cage..
My temps don't go down in freezing until end of Nov or first of dec..but these are in pots and I can bring them into the hothouse if I want too..LOL.....I see more of them getting ready to open up for me..

Moodene, that is so nice, and the fact that they are blooming now is nice too. You have done a great job there.

Nadine - Love your story and reason for growing your MGs! Nice to know that the seeds do keep for quite some time! (I didn't know.) I bet your mother is smiling down from heaven with delight. :-) How wonderful you both shared such an enchanting hobby!

We usually see the really colder weather in January. (Though last November we got a surprise .... near-freeze for a day!)
