CLOSED: WRITING SPIDER

Martin, GA

Good Evening.. I have a white sack in my garage that my brother-in-law said was a writing spider sack.. it's about the size of a walnut. is this sack full of eggs or is the spider himself in it.. i've notice a lot of spiders lately building webs around my house.. i always heard if they are on the south side of the house it's going to be a cold winter.. north side a mild winter..sounds like folklore but i believe in a lot of this... I myself hate spiders.. i'd rather crawl in bed with a snake.. at least you can feel a snake .. you can't feel spiders.. i do not kill them i take them way up in the woods.. any info would be great Tom

Hey TRH; look down two subjects post "Solved Spider ID wanted in this thread.Same spider. It is commonly called writing because of the thickened interwoven section in the web's center. These garden spiders are great to have in the garden as they eat a lot of isects that you don't want.
Also I have Bird Eating Tarantula's (pet's) that came from the Philippine's, are 11-12 inches across and you can feel these in your bed.
The walnut sized sack contains eggs, not the spider.
