This is marked I. transvaalensis, but the tray it was in was dumped early in the year, and I'm not sure if the tags ended up with the correct plants.
Any ideas??
An ID, please
momcat - Thanks for the sidview showing the sepals...very nice clear closeups...(!)
The bloom you are shoewing is an Ipomoea nil...the flower looks to be on the smaller side and the leaves look to be a lighter green than is usually seen...
interesting...

The flowers on this are small, maybe the size of a quarter across. The leaves are very pale looking, but it was in the shade. It doesn't seem to climb at all, just trails amongst the other plants. A lot of those were keeping it well shaded. It's really different from the other MG's I've seen.

Hi Deb,
Ipomoea transvaalensis has somewhat distinctive leaves...check out this picture:

Do you have anything growing that is a match?
Joseph
Thanks for that link Joseph. I had a tray of seeds I was trying to start, early in the year, and the dogs dumped them. Somehow this pot ended up with the transvaalensis tag, but the seeds that went with the tag must have ended up on the ground, or buried too deep, and whichever tag went with this one, well, who knows!!
