CLOSED: prickly halloween colored caterpillar

Georgetown, SC(Zone 8a)

This guy was on my Snail Vine. I took a side view but it's a bit fuzzy, so this is the best shot I have. He's about an inch long.
Any I.D.?
Thanks!

Is it a wooly bear? If so, looks like he's predicting a harsh winter for you.

Hart: That was my first thought when I saw it, but in the photos I've seen, the wooly bear seems to have fewer "bands".
Maybe this is some variation.

It looks like this little Giant Leopard Moth larva - same family and tribe as the Wooly Bears

Claypa: You nailed it. So he's a relative of the woolies. Grows into an amazing moth. Wow!
Thanks so much.
