The Willamette Valley is FULL of nurseries....more here than anywhere up and down the coast.

October Bingo Discussion
Yep Lin..old Arthur has me at his mercy too.Its a bummer because I used to love to travel.
Well now we have heard Beth on the West Coast has great Nurseries too.Not much here in the middle of the country..mostly mail order..
I think i remember Gail saying there were some Great ones down South too..looks like i just live in No plants zone...
So Beth are there any of those nurseries specializing in AV's or streps or maybe even hoyas? Oregon isn't that far at all... if I was really motivated :))
My big family dinner with four generations together here at my house is over. It went good and we had the added excitement of finding that a bear came into the garage and drug the garbage can (that we had scraped our chicken and rib bones into) out into the driveway where he was enjoying a little evening snack. Needless to say we went out in groups to get everyone into their cars and on their way home after that! :0)

I just Googled, and it turns out that it's nearly a 7 hour drive to Logee's from here. Hmm, maybe Lyndon Lyon's would be better! Actually, The Violet Gallery isn't too far for me, makes a nice little day trip. :-)
Being the lurker that I am to this forum and being so new to gessie's etc. I have no idea how you play Bingo but it sounds like you all have a wonderful time :)
Kim: You should join the October game. How it works is the host will list @ 35 plant names. You pick 15 from that list, write them down .... d-mail your picks to the card holder and every day the host will post a call or two from her master list. If it is on your "card" you mark it off and as soon as you have marked off all 15, you as quickly as possible post the word "BINGO" .... the first ones to post that they have bingo win the prizes. A great way to get started on a Gessie collection! Some great prizes are always offered!
Go for it ... I had beginners luck in my first game a few months ago and a couple of others have had beginners luck recently in their first games! It is a lot of fun just checking in every day and seeing what the call (s) for the day are and chattering away! When it gets right down to near the end of the game everyone seems to be needing the same ones to holler bingo!
So, c'mon .... join the fun! You are guaranteed to have fun and you might just win something!
Heya, Kim! Welcome! Just jump right in...
On Monday, Brenda will post a list of 35 names (AVs/Gessies). You pick 15 names from that list, Dmail your 15 choices to threegardeners, and that is your "card."
Brenda will call names, probably one or more each day, and if one of your picks is called, just check it off on your list. When all 15 of the names on your card have been called, post "BINGO!" on the game thread as quick as you can.
Half the fun of the game is in the chatting that goes on each day... looking forward to hearing from you that way, and hope you'll join us!
hee hee .... Looks like Critter & I posted at the same time!
Awww you ladies are just the sweetest! Okay...I think I will try to play :)
This sounds like alot of fun :)
I have been printing off everything I can get my hands on for the Fall Trade so that I will know what to do with any new babies that might grace my home :)
So much to learn and I'm loving every moment of it :)
Thank you for welcoming me in the AV/Gessie forum :)

Oh this sounds like so much fun!
One of these months I plan to donate one of my doilies :)
Seeing how I MUST re-new my subscription to Dave's.
My birthday always triggers the memory that it's time to re-new as it was a birthday gift from a dear friend 3 years ago :)
kim

I'm in for Bingo! :o) How could I ever miss that? I couldn't...let's not even talk about it... LOL
I'm in - I hope - if I can keep up for a few days ... I've missed you ladies!!!
Brenda, I'm leaving for Atlanta Monday AM and won't be back until Wednesday PM. Will you be holding the picks open until then? I can probably pick late in the afternoon. I don't want to miss out on this fun game if I can help it. Thanks for hosting. Elaine
Yes Elaine, you'll have time to get your card in. I'll post the 35 to choose from tomorrow............ but I'll give until Friday the 5th for everyone to get their cards in!!
I'll post the first bingo calls on Saturday the 6th!!
I met a local DGer on Friday!!! It was such a nice experience. She is into outside gardening and I learned several interesting things from her and she shared some great things from her yard with me, she was a sweetheart and so generous!!
I was going to Boise anyway and she just happened to d-mail me before I left and said she lived down there and was trying to get in touch with any DGer's in Idaho who might want to trade or just meet up. A couple of other Idahoans have gotten in touch with her too so we might get to do a round up of sorts next year, that would be so fun!!
My DH informed me we had snow on the ground here yesterday morning, booo! I'm glad I was out of town and it melted before I came back home. LOL
~Brenda
Elaine, where are you staying in Atlanta?
Thank you so much Brenda. It sounds like you had a great time meeting another DG'er. I think most of the people here are extra special individals. Will talk with you on Wednesday. Have a good week. Elaine
The Thomas County Commissioner are having their annual Fall conference. We will be at the Marriott Marquis. We are also having a planning retreat while we are there. It is budget time and we can talk about many things without the media being there. Wish I had time to shop but this is strictly a no time to do anything but meet.
Very nice. I stayed at the Marriott Marquis in January this year. It is a nice facility! I hope you have a little time to enjoy Atlanta. I didn't know if you had family here, and were just visiting..I was going to tell you to come see me and take some things home out of the garden! LOL
You a so sweet. If I were coming in my car I would certainly love to do that. Thank you for asking and maybe the next time I come I will make a special trip to see you and your garden. How far are you from Atlanta? Elaine
I am about forty five minutes North of the city. I would love to meet you and have some of my "friends" make it home with you...lol I just love to share the wealth I am blessed with here in the gardens!
Ok, I have gotten my grandson out the door for the day and have finally had time to post the list of choices for this months bingo game along with the list of prizes!!
Here's the link for the new thread..............
~Brenda
