Side shade garden. The huge truck that had to come into our back yard to dig the well ran over all my holly ferns as you can see in the bottom right.. No worries, I'm glad to have water and I'll make more! :)

Love the photo's...we are preparing our gardens for the winter..I shall dearly miss all the hours I've spent in mine...how envious I am of your beautiful gardens...

Frederick, MD(Zone 6b)

WOW!

Your "what is it" groundcover looks like it could be a green form of ajuga... or if those rosettes are smaller than they look, maybe it is mazus... Does it ever bloom?

Marietta, GA(Zone 7b)

Thanks yall! :)

Betty, I am gearing up for the "Down Season" which will mean collecting leaves, manure and other organic material for newer beds.. Planning what I'm growing from seed for next season and I'm trying to get everything in the ground that should have already been planted before our first frost.

Nope. No Blooms.. I went back and named it and put a link to its PF :)
Dichondra, Kidneyweed 'Silver Falls'
Dichondra argentea

The seeds are on the pricey side considering I need lots of seed to make it happen.. and I wasn't able to.. so Finally I saw it at a box store and went ahead and paid for it.. I don't know how it produces seeds?? as I've never seen flowers?? I don't know if it will come back for me or not.. I'll wait and see, but yes, I really have enjoyed it too.

Your love of gardening truly shows.Your gardens are very beautiful and inspirational.
Thank you for the lovely tour.

This is the one I thought might be ajuga or mazus, http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/p.php?pid=4019615

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

Wonderful, glorious and mesmerizing. Dinner will be late but it was worth it to view your magnificent gardens.

Marietta, GA(Zone 7b)

Thanks Gus :)

Critter.. i have Ajuga and it doesn't spread like this does.. I know its crazy to have something and not know what it is, but when you pull stuff out of the trash.. It happens :) !! If you look close at the picture you can see the stemmed mother.. and then all the babies are popping up all around it. I started pulling them up around another plant before I realized they were babies and not weeds.... But I still don't know what they are.. I'll give them a year!

Yes Sticks, I'm here and gardening!! :) Did you see your coleus?? :) Thank you! So glad the cannas bloomed.. as you can see I whacked mine down already. If I had not had to have watered by sprinkler, I wouldn't have taken as many pics and spent as much time posting and moving the sprinkler all day! I'm so glad I did and so glad I could share. :)

Pirl.. coming from someone that has been seen on tour, I'm flattered. Thanks :)

Susan
