What's your Favorite Bird Song or Sound?

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Chickadee and Northern Cardinal

Gladwin, MI(Zone 5a)

I like the cowbird too. And to hear the redwing blackbirds in the spring. Other than that, the other blackbirds and slarlings, eeeeeeeeee.

The wood thrush sings to us as we walk in the woods. One can imagine a little elf with a lute playing. It is a beautiful song.

Another bad sound. Just imagine what this one sounds like.

My top favorite is Hummingbirds. If you are lucky enough to have them come nearby in the garden, the sound of their wingbeat is awesome. I also love their strange little chatter. I am convinced that Hummingbird sounds are the basis for some of the "Star Wars" audio. My next fave is the American Goldfinch. So melodic when a group is on the feeder and chirping together.

Bridgeville, PA

Chickadees, cardinals, the doves' coo, wrens, goldfinches ( the original twitterers) I am no where near loons, but I love them, and have a cd with loon songs combined with some lovely music.

Whiteside County, IL(Zone 5a)

Black-capped Chickadee
American Robin
Red-winged blackbird, especially in the spring!
Brown Thrasher
Mourning Dove

Manzanita, OR(Zone 8b)

I love the Bald Eagles
The hummingbirds
California Thrasher
Mockingbird
Song Sparrow

Stafford County, VA

Some of my favorite bird songs:

"There's a Bluebird on your window sill"--Audrey Williams, among many others, including Doris Day
"Bluebird Island"--Hank Snow
"Gonna' find me a Bluebird"--Marvin Rainwater
"I heard the Bluebirds sing"--The Browns
"Bluebird"--Paul McCartney

OH, you mean songs that birds SING?

In that case it would be the mockingbird
the song sparrow
the Carolina wren
the Bob White and
the whippoorwill

LOL!!!!

Gladwin, MI(Zone 5a)

Too funny.

Right now the redwing black birds are flocking in the marsh. They fly in "swarms" flocks and there are a thousand singing in the morning. I was ready for work early and sat on the deck yesterday morning. The sound (even though it is a sound of fall) is quite nice.

Walkerton, VA(Zone 7a)

In no particular order:

Barred Owl
Canada Goose
Veery
Prairie Warbler
Pileated Woodpecker

Wilmar, AR(Zone 8a)

It's been awhile since I posted on this forum...good to be back

My favorite bird song is the Yellow-breasted chat mostly because it is so unusual
I also love the Whip-poor-will, Robin, Eastern Bluebird, and Bob White
