Doesn't someone on this forum have 125 cats?
Happy Autumn the First!!
I live near Saratoga Springs. About 20 min south of there.
I thought your moon shot was great Al. Very nice.
Hee hee!! Great shot Al. Nice pumpkins!
Not my shot, but I'm not a lawyer either. Sort of fell into my lap in an email.
All I can say is OMG!
Which one was it that fell in your lap???
Both! There were some funny pumpkin carvings included.
What happens in Menasha stays in Menasha.
What a riot!!
Someone has a great imagination.
Too funny! Someone not only has a great imagination - but a great sense of humour. :-)
what a riot. wish I was that creative!
Now, that is funny, Al!!
How did I miss this thread? Happy Autumn everyone!
How did the Double DD's travel over to this thread Al??? Really hard to let go of something your so fond of huh? Photo's are too funny!!
Have DD's, will travel.
I don't know Pixie, I'll have to check my internet connection for trouble.
I shocked your calling DD's trouble!
No, I want MORE trouble.
Thought you were into the ears, Al.
That looks like a display my hubby would do.
On the question of 'displays' ... does anyone create autumnal-looking displays for their front yard? What do you use?
I let the plants do the displaying!
For sure, Victor.
But, do you let them 'free-range' display or do you coax them a little?
I don't spray paint them!
LOL!!!
I had forgotten that little trick!
Candyce - for me, it's corn shucks on the porch posts and my own pumpkins on the front steps....just simple stuff ....how about you??
Oh, I love the corn shucks and pumpkins.
Usually, each of the grandkids carves a pumpkin and we put them on the picnic table. The big leaves from the front yard maple get all racked up into a pile, which looks very enticing to the neighborhood kiddos.
This year, Taelar 'found' some glow in the dark window clings, which her momma will put up in the windows. (Personally, I think it's tacky. But it's not my house.) I love it when the grandkids get into a holiday, though.
Oh, Fun, Candyce! One of the things I love about my life these days is that "tacky" gets redefined when the grandkids' art comes into play, and the things the kids think are cool suddenly are pure fun! I still like tasteful aesthetic things, but I get a kick out of things that just don't go or just don't fit now.........fun and laughter have so much value as you mature......I think there are so many kindred spirits here that know just what I mean. LOL
Yep! I know what you mean, Louise.
When I think about how uptight I used to be I wonder how did my family stand me? Now, it's whatever makes them happy, as long as I don't have to clean it up, or rescue them, or try and explain it to the neighbors ~ LOL!!!
I sure didn't see uptight when you were at the farm, Candyce!! Not worth it, huh? Although, I have to confess I was really uptight this afternoon - got so frustrated with the automated phone game trying to take care of some things before we head south, that my bp must have been off the charts!! Just please let me talk to a human!!!!
They often make things worse!
Yeah, that was the topper......we were communication challenged and after 20 minutes of trying to make myself understood, I was back where I started........it was not a good scene, and it just kept repeating itself with every call I made.... I'm pretty patient, but NOT TODAY!!! I remained polite with my teeth grinding, and that's what probably made me lose it! On top of it all, at the crucial point in each "conversation", my dog, Molly, would announce that she wanted to go out......NOW!! The stars must have been out of whack for me today.........so, I'm lowering my bp by looking at all the pretty blooms on various posts..........
We've all had those moments Louise. Time to relax now. Not worth the aggravation.
I hearya, Victor! How important is it, right? I think I'll just call it a day and start over tomorrow....my bed and my book are calling!
I must admit that since DD, Anna, and I began 'gardening for real' this year, my BP has gone down quite a bit. And, I am not as up-tight and straight-laced as I used to be. At home, while everything should be put away and in its place by the people who used it last, now it doesn't matter quite so much that I amd the one picking it up and putting it away.
As far as automated calls go - they are a fact of life that I find rather rude. But, as they are a fact of life, I suppose I should fet used to them. Used to them, that is, if I can resist the temptation to hang up the phone.
Gardening is calming, isn't it? And in 5 years, what will you remember, how messy the house was, or how you spent the days relaxing in a beautiful garden?
OK. I have to confess, Deb. I will remember how messy the house was, and how I just didn't care, because I was relaxing in the garden, teaching the grandkids and showing off to the neighbors.
Though it's only two years later I still can vividly recall being taken by ambulance to the hospital after hurting myself in the garden and can't quite recall the beauty it so well.
Ohmigosh, pirl! What happened?
hope you didn't have long lasting effects
