Speckled Wood

I have photos of the southern european form of Pararge aegeria (the orange/brown form). How would you like this entered? My books seem to disagree as to whether it is a sub species Parage aegeria aegeria or not and I can't find that in the BF, but perhaps I am searching wrongly (I found P aegeria).

Churchill, Victoria, Australia(Zone 10a)

I checked my book "A Field Guide to Butterflies of Britain and Europe" by L.G.Higgins and N.D.Riley. They distinguish the two subspecies, with the northern form being Pararge aegeria tircis and the southern form which you describe, being (as you say) Pararge aegeria aegeria.
All the images added so far are for the northern form, so I have modified that entry to become that subspecies as Pararge aegeria tircis: http://davesgarden.com/guides/bf/go/209/

I have then made a new entry for the southern form as Pararge aegeria aegeria here: Pararge aegeria aegeria

It will be great to get your photos added to the southern form,

best wishes
