This critter sneaked in a window and is on the wall in my daughter's bedroom. She is none to happy about it. LOL
It's body is about 3" long and with it's legs about 6". That is a nail hole to it's left, for reference.

Is it some type of crane fly?
Definitely - there are a few giant-sized ones like that. Tipula abdominalis and T. longiventris are possibilities, but they're hard to identify, to me anyway

Plenty more on here. Limonia species look like that but I don't know about the size.
