I know I was terrified the first time I saw one in my vegetable garden, years ago before I was the plant maniac that I've become! It had strung it's web between some plants and happily hung there catching treats. I carefully reached around it and the web, not touching it and suppressing the urge to smash it! A few days after I found it, there was an episode of Gardening By The Yard and guess what one of the topics was?? LOL They still creep me out but I leave them be and try to share my space with them. :)

Oddly enough, I like spiders. Generally, I appreciate their presence outdoors, and practice catch and release when at all possible indoors.
