Hi!
I would really love to try some of the cardinal climber and MG seeds, too. I'll send you a dmail.

College Station, TX(Zone 8b)

One more thing....the P.O. measures envelopes now. The seed pack will add just enough girth to cost 17 cents more than reg. stamp. So be sure to put extra stamps on the make 58 cents.

Anne,
I have a question and since you obviously collect morning glory seeds ...thought you would know the answer.

I live in western Kentucky and here we have already had several killing frosts and many nights in the low 30's and even a few in the upper 20's.

My question is this....are the seeds that were mature and ready to be collected still good on these plants?

It strikes me that if they were ready before the frost that they'd be ok now. However, this is my first year with MG's so, you might want to pose this question on the morning glory forum. They'd be able to answer your question better.

Thanks Anne.......that's kinda what I'm thinking too, since after all some seeds usually come up voluntarily that go thru many killing frosts, ice and winter snow.

RJ, here's what I found collecting MG seeds last year. Seeds that are mature and hardened don't seem to be harmed by frost. Seeds that aren't quite ready when frost hits will turn to mush. There won't be any doubt about which seeds are "good" and which aren't! :-)

Many Thanks to the both of you Anne and critterologist.
Now...I need to get out there and harvest a bizillion seeds. I planted morning glories all around my deck this year and they were absolutely gorgeous!
Even when not in bloom the foilage was soooo beautiful and the little hummers were delighted.
It was so enjoyable sitting out on my deck early in the morning sipping my first cup of coffee and just taking in the beauty of these gorgeous flowers and watching all the little hummers dive bombing with all their excitement.
I planted many different colors and varieties ranging from the doubles to the more rare and expensive Japanese MG's....I think some were called flying saucers or something simular and they were just huge.
I believe the Morning glory is very under stated for it's beauty.

I would love some morning glory seeds and cardinal climber seeds for sase. Do you have any left? Joanie.

College Station, TX(Zone 8b)

I still have a ton. I have to start tearing down the remaining, and still blooming, vines today. We use that section of the deck for wintering over my container plants.
