Help please for grafting information

Frederick, MD(Zone 6a)

This has never been correctly id'd. We've taken the photo to numerous plantsmen and here on DG, but the ID of Golden Deodoro Cedar isn't it according to a conifer 'expert' at U of Md.

We really like this conifer - can anyone help me? I need to know how to propagate via graft and partiularly what root stock we should use.

Thanks for any help!!

Any photo? Can't do much without a pic!

PS spellcheck: Deodar Cedar

Thanks Resin - you are correct on both counts of course :)

Definitely a Deodar Cedar, and a yellowish one; there are several cultivars matching these criteria, which one it is I'm not certain.

Grafting - on any cedar seedling. In zone 6, try to find something hardy (but don't be surprised if it gets killed in a severe winter anyway).

Thanks Resin, it's what we have said from the beginning, but we still can't find anybody who will confirm.

Is there somewhere here on DG or elsewhere that will give us some good instructions on grafting? We're not pros - it'll be a first for us.

I have done it, not easy and they dont like to take for me. look up grafting cedar in google and you will get several diffrent ways, try one or two of each and give them a try.
