He seems to have red eyes on his ebony black back (picture isn't mine).

I should also mention the above picture was taken in Germany (I'm sure that will help with the ID process ;).

Maybe a black morph of the twice-stabbed, two-spotted, or Zweipunkt ladybeetle, Adalia bipunctata?

Claypa I had to laugh when I read the twice-stabbed, two-spotted post that you made (at first thought you were pulling my leg) but since you gave the Latin name I checked it out and I believe you are correct. Thank you! :D
