Tangerine Bloom opening.
I wasn't home to see the full production of either this baby or wallflower, which is next.
Blooms for 09-15-07
and last, but not least, mt newest blooming machine:
Voodoo Queen
UNBELIEVABLE !!!!!!!!
Great pics, Cat. I'm so glad I've now got Envie, Nightfire and Wallflower - I can hardly wait for them to bloom :-) My Nightfire from David has a couple buds, I'm just hoping that they don't fall off (seems to happen after shipping for some reason).
Karen,
Alot of times my buds fall off after shipping too. I think it is the stress of moving from one environment to another, especially if it takes more than a day. But, I use "synergy" as soon as I get the babies and I am noticing less bloom drop and less stress.
Of course the leaves still turn yellow for about a week, but they grow back really fast.
Love, love, love the pollinating bee on the ecchinachea. Geez, with as many colds as I get, I should start growing some, LOL
Karen, aren't those honeybees? Wonder what Hibiscus/Echinacea honey would taste like?
Yummmmmmm
WOW! Great pics, guys!! My home PC crashed this weekend so it'll be a while 'til I get pics up again.
And good to see things are up and running, Robert! I know, this is so very girlie of me - but I hate to be without power!!
Oh I totally agree Amanda, I can't live without my blowdryer and hair straightener. Besides, without power it's harder to make slushy margaritas ;-)
Our stove/oven died a sad death this weekend, and I told my DH, it's a really really good thing he like to BBQ!
Hey Amanda & Karen,
I dont mind working in the Greenhouse but it is nice to be able to come in and cool off for a little while. Now when it is a 24/7 thing I want my A/C. The genetator was good because we could run the fridge and fans as well as the tv, but what good are fans circulating 100 degree air. It was just miserable, but we are good now. So, I am spoiled to the electricity too. Is'nt sad how spoiled we are. LOL and now see that there may be another one coming in the gulf. I'll be ready this time!!!
This was my first purchase from my first HVH open house. Back then, there was only one plant like this (none on the website, only 1 for sale) and it was called Brown Sugar. Since then, Charles Black has renamed it Cinnamon Girl. When I purchased my other actually marked Cinnamon Girl, I thought it was a different cultivar. So this plant was (I thought) dead from the winter frost, cut down to almost ground level. I thought, what the heck, I'll put it in an extra pot and see what happens. Now it's beautiful and this is the first bloom this year :-)
Karen, My pic is Tangerine Dream and Moonstruck.
Wow, what a great bunch of pictures. I wonder if they are all in Plantfiles.
You know, I've only got a few hibiscus pics in plant files. I think I've had more daylily pictures, since PF doesn't have a listing for most of the hibbies.
I've been trying to add all my pics in as I get them--a lot of the entries were there but just didn't have a picture, and the ones that didn't have an entry I added one for them (it's easy if you pick an existing entry as a model for the hardiness, propagation info, etc, just put the same info in yours). Pretty much all the tropical cultivars should have the same hardiness, similar height, same propagation methods, etc.
moonstruck, softspot and tangerine are my pics. I keep thinking that I should post pics in plantfiles, but never have the time.
Maybe I will do it this week, on my days off.
