CLOSED: Huge Yellow and Black Banded Spider: What is it?

Found the single string shooting up from a plant on the patio. Went to wipe it away, but it was too strong! Followed it up, wondering what made such a strong webstring, and there he was, over my head! Any ideas? Thanks.

Gymgirl: It's a female Golden Silk or Banana spider. :) Giant thingies.
