I had one similar in August on my back security door. Wasn't sure it was a Katydid since the last one I found looked more like a green leaf.

azrobin, your katydid is in the genus Insara, probably Insara elegans

Thank you, Clay! Indeed it is. There was no listing in BugFiles so good ol' Google lead me to this Elegant Bush Katydid:
