Just stopping by to say hi. Not feeling well. I may try to look in later. Glad you two found it.

Fredericksburg, VA(Zone 7a)

Noblesville, IN(Zone 5a)

For Moretz

1st, one today hint old old movie

2. Look at one of my recent post today.

This message was edited Sep 14, 2007 12:34 PM

(Zone 1)

Great hint for the first call of the day! Some of us "oldsters" probably got that right away, but the younger generation might not get it!

Braselton, GA(Zone 7b)

I had one of them but not the other...lol Love the hint!

Noblesville, IN(Zone 5a)

They need to watch more of the old old movies don't they?:)

Braselton, GA(Zone 7b)

Well, it would certainly be an education...imagine watching a movie with an actual "plot" where all the loose ends are tied up when it ends, and there are actually no brain and guts spewed all over the screen and no illicit sex...wouldn't that be amazing! HMMMM...OLD MOVIES!!! I love them!

Fredericksburg, VA(Zone 7a)

And no cussing, nudity, or "real" violence!

Think I'll go home and watch "The Sound of Music" tonight...

Braselton, GA(Zone 7b)

LOL...My Mama always watched a show called "Armchair Playhouse" when I was young...I can remember "pretending to be too sick to go to school" so I could stay home with Mama and watch it with her...they had the best movies and like you said, no sex, ugly language, or gore!

Most movies then, were actually about real life things! I can't recall one man singlehandly blowing up an entire country and shooting machine guns on the streets, and setting off bombs etc and bringing back the hostage he was trying to rescue, with no reprecussions for the lives he endangered or people he killed EVER happening in my lifetime....and really I would rather NOT WATCH the UGLINESS of the world on TV or at the Movies...and I don't, I realize that is my choice too....lol Getting off the soap box.

Fredericksburg, VA(Zone 7a)

Well, I watch some of the movies of today, because I like a good horror film, or a good action film now and then. But what gets me, is it is becoming more and more difficult to find a "good" film nowadays that doesn't have at least one of the elements mentioned in it. They just don't hardly make them now, because they simply will not sell or make big box office money... sad! Even the kids' movies are going to have some element in them that you would have NEVER found in movies from 20 years ago.

Braselton, GA(Zone 7b)

I totally agree. I have made the statement to my DH when watching a movie that it would have been just as good or even better without the sex scene, or without the blood and gore...we are certainly "bright" enough to realize that when someone is shot, or hit be a car...they bleed...but do we have to "see the blood"? Same with the sex...okay they lead each other to the bedroom etc...but do we have to "experience it" WITH them...I think it is just way out of hand!

(Zone 1)

I still haven't found the hidden clue today .... going to search some more!

Braselton, GA(Zone 7b)

click on Makshi's name and see where she is posting..lol

Mid, ID(Zone 3b)

Yahoo! Had the "hidden" clue! Got a kick out of picturing Makshi stalking spiders for her plants! LOL

Thanks for the hint JanetS I was too busy to really get with it this morning so that was a big help. Oh yeah and ditto on the whole movie thing!! I recently re-watched Father Goose with Cary Grant and it is so good! Love those old movies with the happy endings!

~Brenda

(Zone 1)

:) I already found it!

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

I have never even heard of these movies................and I looked at Makshi threads, etc............i don't know............

Northeast, NE(Zone 5a)

Let me see what would be a another good hint about the movie?? How about......STELLA!!!

(Zone 1)

...... or how about: Brando!

Northeast, NE(Zone 5a)

Oh yes Lin!! Thats a Great hint : )

Braselton, GA(Zone 7b)

How about Brando really really WANTS Stella for his own....

Noblesville, IN(Zone 5a)

It has been said that this Tennessee Williams play turned the tide of things that were accepted on screen.

Braselton, GA(Zone 7b)

I do not doubt that either!

(Zone 1)

Where is everyone tonight?

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

Starfly wanted me to tell you all that her brother died on the 9th.................it is such a sad story but she can tell it....................Plantladylin, since no one knows her calls, can you hold her card...................
She did get everyone's plants because the lady next door opened them for her............but the neighbor used her computer , didn't turn it off and a storm blew it out............she has no way to get back on for a while.............she is very appreciative of what everyone has done to help her.
She said that she didn't know which plant came from whom............as the neighbor got the cards mixed up.............i assured her that was fine for now.........she could get that settled when she came back.............
Her tooth never got pulled and the dentist gave her an antibiotic yesterday 3 times a day...................my heart breaks for her and all that she has endured in one year..........
She just wanted me to tell everyone that she got home last night from the funeral..........

Braselton, GA(Zone 7b)

Thank you so much Gail! I was so worried about them. I was afraid that was what had happened. Bless you Eunice and Terry! You are in my thoughts and prayers and my heart goes out to you both! You have endured so much, and I can not imagine how worn out you must be!

I got the Dolly song...but not the other clue yet...I will try again in the morning...I have my grandbabies tonight..yummy kisses and hugs!! Going to suggle with them....talk to you guys tomorrow..

Someone must be close to BINGO!!!

(Zone 1)

Gail: I was so afraid that something had happened to her brother. I remember her posting that they had made an unexpected trip to Jacksonville, that he was in the hospital and wasn't doing well. I put a card in the mail to her yesterday and if she didn't get it today she will get it Monday. It was just a "Thinking of You" card telling her that we all missed her and were worried about her. She sure has had a rough year.

If you speak to her again, tell her I have been watching her card and I will continue to do so.

Thanks so much for letting us know what is going on. Prayers going out to her and her family.

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

I don't think I will hear from her again.................as she was using someone else's computer and I just happened to be on the computer when her dmail came in................
I don't think she would mind if I told her good friends........

.the hardship was a double whammy............he didn't leave any insurance or money to be buried.........It took Eunice a few days to get the money to bury him.............in addition, her tooth was really painful........and no doctor because she wasn't at home.............that is why she just started the antibiotic today..........am sure she feels horrible for a lot of reasons...........

(Zone 1)

I feel for her. I hope the antibiotic kicks in and takes care of that infection quickly. I hope she can take something for the pain until the antibiotic does it's thing.

I know she won't mind you posting to let us all know what is going on.

Mid, ID(Zone 3b)

Feeling so sad for Starfly ....... but glad that we got an update from her via Gail.

~Brenda

Noblesville, IN(Zone 5a)

That is so sad about Eunice's brother. We can't even email her are condolences. If you speak to her Gail let her know how I feel.

This message was edited Sep 16, 2007 10:40 AM

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

I think dmailing her would be nice..............she will eventually get her computer fixed........I don't have her phone so I don't think i will be hearing from her until she gets back on line.........
Whatever are you doing up at 4am??????????????????????

Northeast, NE(Zone 5a)

Gail..Thanks for the update on Eunice. She has been thru so much this year : (

Noblesville, IN(Zone 5a)

Hello are you all still playing this game? Please come back.

Crossville, TN(Zone 6b)

I know the first one but Dolly Parton I have no idea. I do not listen to country. Altho' I do like her duet with Kenny Rodgers, "Islands in the stream".
