moonflower questionplease help

Hi,
I have a moonflower that I think the growth was stunted on it or something because it was only about 2 feet tall and it had 2 flowers on it then went to seed. The pods are pretty big (about the width of two thumbs back to back). What I wanted to know is if I cut them off will the vine grow more and produce more flowers instead of dying off like other annuals? (its annual in my zone)Any help is appreciated.
Thanks :D

That's usually NOT necessary---usually any Ipomoea will flower heavily, once it starts, whether it's setting seeds or not.You haven't been feeding it, have you? They don't flower well in rich soil.

Thats the weird thing. I have not been feeding either of my two vines. One is about 12 feet tall and eagerly growing but not flowering, and the other is about 2 or 3 feet and has had 3 flowers which went to seed almost immediately and no flowers after that. Its weird how one is growing so fast while the other isnt.

Different lighting maybe. Moonflowers like the sun. Difference in soil maybe.

This used to happen to me when i bought plants instead of starting them from seed, also if something damages a plant when it is small, I have neighbors dogs running loose and this happens all to often
