OOOHHH!!! But you kill me with your Sanguineas!!! :)
Gorgeous!!!

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Looking great. I wish they were easier to grow in warm climates. Our fall isn't long enough to get one to bloom.

Victoria, BC(Zone 8a)

My first ones (cuttings) bloomed in July. This one was a seed that was planted later, so it's, only now, doing its thing.

Alvin, TX(Zone 9a)

Ooooooooooooooooh - so pretty!! Does this grow like traditional Brugs? Or ?

Lindenwold, NJ(Zone 7a)

Awesome, I just love those red flowers.

Victoria, BC(Zone 8a)

Yes Amanda, it grows just like a regular brug. ;-)

Alvin, TX(Zone 9a)

Oh now, I'm ruined. I have to have one now.

(Jan) So Milw, WI(Zone 5b)

Hi Amanda!

It's "me", Jan, from your brug thread...I have seeds for this. Are you good at starting seeds or should I attempt to germ some for me and you??? Let me know.

Just "ME", Jan

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

very, very beautiful

Alvin, TX(Zone 9a)

You DO, Jan!?!? WOW!! Well, I'm ok at seed starting. Got some good Wonga vine and White Lily of the Nile seeds going but no luck on some Thai Rock Banana seeds from eBay. How easy are Brug seeds to germinate?

Oh, and you know I don't have any more room, right? LOL!! So this means my hubby "gets" to move things around!!

Lodi, CA(Zone 9b)

Amanda.... I TOLD YA SO... LOL

There is NO way out..

(Jan) So Milw, WI(Zone 5b)

Amanda:
I haven't had any luck (in the past) germing brug seeds but I'm gonna give it a try (...again...) so let me get back to you if/when I can get these seeds growing. Sangs are actually said to be easier to grow from seed than they are from cuttings---any suggestions anyone???

************************************************************************

Brugie:
...oops!...please correct me if I'm wrong but do sangs prefer climates such as Theresa_in_BC's (zone ___?) where the temps are cooler??? Your statement about your warmer temps just made me rethink that perhaps the sang may not grow well for Amanda...and then, I'm further confused cause I noticed that you're in zone 5 as I am...will sangs grow for me???

Happy Friday,
Jan

Teresa! It is beautiful! great photography, too! I love the "time lapse"! Can you post another, since it is probably fully open by now? We would love to see! Amanda, it's so much fun watching you "blossom", you MUST start looking for a new house with a bigger yard, right away! lol Jan, do you have brugs? (I'm old, remember? I mean well-matured) I don't think you do, I'll be saving cuttings for you, but I don't want to duplicate color IF you have some, unless you want some of the same color... (OH, I hope I remembered right!)
Teresa or Brugie will help you on the sanginea/heat issue.... I think I steered away from them because our triple digit, humid summers would probably wilt it, BUT DON'T take my advice on this one...

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

I've always been told that they don't do well in hot temps, but Alistair grows them and it's hot as heck where he lives during his summer. I think the key to the problem is that you need to have a long period of cooler temps without a freeze to get them to bloom really well. If you can keep them alive through the heat and have that long fall, you can probably get the job done. I just can't get them through the heat...period.

Victoria, BC(Zone 8a)

Well, I'm in zone 8 and mine is in filtered sun. I found the seeds fairly easy to germinate. It's not fully opened yet. I bet it will be by the weekend though - maybe Sunday.

Are you a professional photographer? The lighting in that last pic is really makes it glow! Gorgeous!

Victoria, BC(Zone 8a)

LOL! Not professional, in the least! I just caught the light well there! Just a fluke! ;-)

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

You have a great climate for growing sangs. Liz grows them in BC as well. Very pretty bloom. I'd just like to see a bloom in person one day. LOL!

Bluffton, SC(Zone 9a)

Alvin, TX(Zone 9a)

Uh oh, I dunno if they will work here then! But I definately want to try!!

ZZ - YOU WERE RIGHT, LOL!!!! I'm HOOKED!

NE, KS(Zone 5b)

Teresa, that pic is just OMG, I can't describe the beauty! The sun makes it come alive! And the camera pointer did good, too! Amanda, brugs had you BEFORE the blue towel! LOL You'll be loaded with new brugs by next year! You'll have to have one or two of each color, there are variegated ones, double blooms, triple blooms... that poor philo will end up in the driveway! (Pssssssssst.......they have TL-diehrd, too!) lol

Bluffton, SC(Zone 9a)

lol i heard th@!

(Jan) So Milw, WI(Zone 5b)

Oh AuntB---I have only NOID white and a "Monster White". I did recieve a cutting of "Cherub", "Velvet Pink" and "Dr Seuss" so I will TAKE ANY CUTTINGS for postage...and I promise that I shall pass along cuttings when I am able. So YES, please, please, please send me cuttings and I will reimburse postage.

Amanda---I will send you some seeds Tuesday of the sang as I'm involved in a couple of other trades, OK?!

Another NEW die-hard bruggie fan...Jan

NE, KS(Zone 5b)

I knew you were hooked, Jan! How's the monster doing? How are your temps up there? I had a Super Nova my first year and killed it! Never did get to see the mile long ;) blooms. I'll have a package for you... careful over there in the trading forums ;) I took em off my favs list. lol I still have swapping going on, though... it's fun and theres a better selection at DG than anywhere commercially! Hail this a.m. did minimal to moderate damage to leaves on everything, but soon it will be time to do the fall haul to the basement anyway. Pink Beauty lost part of a bloom limb, (sniff, sniff.... I'm okay) I felt like my children were playing in the street and a car was coming and I there wasn't a thing I could do to help them. I just ran from the front door to the back door, I snapped a couple pics and it was over in about 5 minutes, seemed like 30, the mulch around the trees was almost white!.. Can't you just see me? OMG, what could I do? 2 of my kids were sleeping, they couldn't offer any comfort, so all I could do is whine "ooh, ooh, ooh!" with my nose pressed against the glass and endure the trauma! Sure you "newbies" wanna get involved with something that makes you act like that??

Alvin, TX(Zone 9a)

You guys soooooooooo know me! Ugh - I'm already envisioning a 1-2 acre plot full of brugs and hibbies!

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

did any one see the double orange brug for auction on e-bay? the prettiest one i ever seen

Alvin, TX(Zone 9a)

Ugh - you guys are gonna put me on welfare! ROFL!!

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

Amanda, you really need to take a peek at it. it realy is beautiful

NE, KS(Zone 5b)

I'm NOT looking! LOL (but thanks for the info, jordan ;)

Alvin, TX(Zone 9a)

I bet it is! Going to look now ---- wait, let me give my coworker my wallet first!!

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

aunt B, you dont know what you are missing. absolutly gorgeous!

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

yeah, isn't it a beauty

NE, KS(Zone 5b)

YOU GIRLS! I knew it was a Herrenhouser (or how ever you spell it) before Amanda,( you little brug pusher), posted the darn link! It is a highly sought after brug but they are hard to come into bloom, but one with patience AND a WALLET could grow them. ;) get back to work, slacker! lol
