Do any of you have a yellow-naked lady lily ??

Ripley, MS

I am looking for these for a friend of mine, I don't have too many lilies, but I do have named daylilies to trade if you have some.
She has the red and she wants the yellow.
It is sometimes called a surprise lily too.
Thanks

It would be a Lycoris, I think.... Amaryllis family maybe?? You might google it... Not a true lily even tho they call them surprise lilies.. :) They are beautiful, tho. Other than that, I can't help you...

I bought bulbs and planted them but have seen no action on the yellow lycoris. The red ones did quite well.

Well, if you do get them to bloom, please post pictures of them. I like them, but as with all tender bulbs in my zone, I don't bother with them if I have to dig them. :)

I think what you're after is Lycoris chinensis. Available here but not cheap! http://shop.bulbmeister.com/nursery/flower-bulbs/30-10

Oooh, those are kind of cool... :)

Pretty though, I haven't ever seen them yellow. Very nice.

Yes, I do believe that is it--hopefully someone will come along and want to trade for something. I thought I would have the best luck on this forum, but I guess I better try the plant trading forum too--lol

Or how about the Bulb Forum?

There is a white, which is really vanilla ice cream color, not plain white (albiflora)
and there is yellow, at least one variety, aurea.

Last year I was hot to trot for these and did some reseach. I haven't checked lately, but Telos may have them. Not cheap. White and yellow are relatively new, would be surprised if there were any for trade out there.

Ripley, MS

Oh I did not know it was new. It will probably be hard to find then, thanks for all the info on them.

They are here for $7.95 each, not sure of their DG rating though, anybody done business with them?

well...maybe not new, but relatively new in the US. I went to Telos and found this. No yellow but others, ahhh, so nice

not familiar w/ aarons. Telos, yes, and give it a thumbs up. You must heed Diana's advice to be patient w/ emails/correspondence...must be a very small operation where one or a few people wear many hats.

They are definetly new to me, I don't think I have ever seen one before.

Aaron's is an offshoot of another company that we do not discuss here at DG due to the very unfavorable rating and subsequent fallout. Don't do business with them.

Good to know
