That Loves it here in Texas!!
For me it is Malachi -
Show me you favorite Daylily
Mine are what I have learned are called "ditch lillies". Love 'em.
yes I keep some ditch lilies here, my grandmother grew them so they will always have a place. I wish the new breed ones bloomed like the ditch - I would have blooms all summer.
Well, I guess this makes me a full-fledge hem-head. IMPOSSIBLE to list one as a fave. I love them all. Mitch, when you are shopping for DLs, make sure the description includes "high bud count". That is something I always look for. Also look for rebloomers.
While not my fave, Our Kirsten has been a blooming machine this year. Nope, no can do. Not one single fave. Must list ALL!
Where is Steve?
I have an assortment of "gimme" daylilies... all NOIDs (no identification)
Two were received from friends ~ a young couple and the daylilies remind me so much of them.
My favorite is this one. It personifies his charm and personality. The clarity of the color is his honor, the lines fit his personality... one would just have to know this young man to see the inner beauty.
Here is number one ~ most special...
They are stunning..
Easy to see why one could be addicted to daylily. I am feeling weaker by the moment.
LouC - I have found it to be an addiction for sure, but, one I just refuse to give up.....LOL
Getting really sleepy....see ya' tomorrow......
John Boy.....don't let the bed bugs bite......yes, Mary Ellen.....
Tex, Hope you are not getting floods from Humberto. The more I stay with this thread the more I think I am going to be a DL addict.
Christy, we got a little rain, but that's all. It hit High Island and Beaumont. We prayed for Janet and Beaumont and are very thankful they are OK.
Daylilies are truly addicting! They are so beautiful! There's so many different styles, types, just truly gorgeous. I wish they were more tolerant of the heat here.
With all of the rain, I have lost about 3 to rot, lost 2 to rust last year......so kind of discouraged.
I hybridize, so have about 100 babies that will bloom next year, and another 90 the following year. I can't wait to see them bloom!
You can go to daylily.com and choose "auction" you can look at alot of the pictures. As many as there are, it is just a small degree of those that are out there. At daylily.com they also have alot of links to other gardens, growers, and more pictures. That will surely get you hooked!
Here's another of my favorites, Alexa Kathryn. I just got it last May, so it hasn't bloomed for me yet.

Thanks for the links. The yard crew comes today and I somethings to do ahead of them and I have been on this silly pc all morning. Gotta busy...will check the links later.
I love the piecrust and ruffled edges, but I have had poor luck keeping mine alive. I am expecting a few more this month from Maryott's. Maybe I'll have more success this time. I'm going to plant them where there's a little more protection from the wind and dappled sun instead of full sun.
Patrob, mine are not in full sun, either. We've just had so much rain this year!
Yeah, the chicken fat description disgusts me. I admired the fancy daylilies, but in my garden, the real beauties are some of the older cultivars that have sticking power. This one, 'Bold Rankin,' looks rather generic in the photo, but when the light catches the flower, it is amazing. It is tough and multiplies rapidly.

Pat, I am a red freak. I will definitely have to have this one.
Oh,oh,oh......loosing my breathe. lol
Those are great Patrob. I have planted quite a few new ones this year and I am really wondering what it's going to look like when they bloom. I didn't take into consideration their height or when the bloom, just the color. I guess I'll be shuffling some of them. I've seen so many DL beds that look so great, but the selection is so overwhelming I don't know how you choose. Other than price that is.:)
Ooooo Sheila, awsome! Is that maroon?
Yes, open the pic all the way and you can see the leaves of the Fringe Flower for refrence.
That's a color I really need more of! When does it bloom?
I just try to get them all. :>)
Yea I guess you're right Patrob. If I just buy everything in my price range it'll all work out somehow or other...eventually.:) One of these days when they all get to bloomin' it'll suddenly dawn on me how to make it flow.
Wonderful daylilies everybody, they are really gorgeous.
I had my son first and then we had to find the Daylily to match...
