CLOSED: Cat crawled into my pond and drowned :(

Colorado Springs, CO(Zone 6a)

This thing is huge! I suspect a lot of it is absorbed water, like the roly polies who swell up when they find their way to the bottom of my pond. What cat is it? I'm sad to find it in this state!

Looks like a type of horn worm, I'm sure someone will come along and tell you for sure, Too bad it dround even though it's not the good type.

looks like a Carolina Sphinx Moth. They are that big, don't think it is from the water.

I think you're right with the Carolina Sphinx Moth. Guess I shouldn't be too sad to see it go, what with the 11 negatives to 1 positive in the BugFiles. I think I'm gonna go check my tomato plants now....Thank you both! :) Susanne
