I have an email/photographer buddy in Rio de Janeiro who asked me if I can help with the ID of what he calls a type of "Ant". Another member of my small group agrees with the ant thought and thinks he's seen something similar in Florida.
In my view, it has more bug parts than ant parts but they know I have access to some really top people in this field. So, here it is if any of you all can be of help.
Thanks a lot,
Dave
CLOSED: Ant or Bug ID Please
My feeling are that it belongs to the Order Heteroptera, possibly Family Miridae, as it has a long protusion from the head similar to Flower Bugs.

I think I may have found it, an Ant Mimic bug

Thanks a million wallaby1,
I've seen your contributions to BugFiles and I'm impressed with your scholarship.
