I received a bunch of hosta seeds from a trader and I was wondering how many should I put into each seeding tray pot. They are real thin and wasnt sure if one in each would be ok or if more would be better. I must have a million, or even a trillion of them. It's almost a ziplock bag full. I dont want to plant all of them. That would take too many trays. How long do they last?????? C'mon hosta experts, help a gal out.
Hosta seeds
Here is a link to a thread on the hosta forum. I have used this method with great success.

If you have a full bag of seeds you will have more hostas than you will ever need. I think the seeds will last a couple years if stored properly.
I also tried the above mentioned method, and am the proud owner of quite a lot of baby Hostas. Good luck!
once they begin to germinate do u put them into potting mix?
Yes, and cover them lightly.
