Hi All,
I may be able to make the round up. I won't have much to trade I was hit very hard by the frost. Only one Brug made it. Alot of my tropicals didn't make it.
I look forward to seeing everyone
Dev
I have some canna and some heuchera and bergenia and some ferns I also have wood violets white and purple. I may beable to take a root cutting of mathilia poppy.
I will put you down for those Teresa. I am interested in your Peach colored canna and Bangkok yellow canna.
I am looking for double brugs. some of the newer one's.
I can't bring any plants because of the stupid moth (too bad because I know that I have way more plants right now than will fit in my garden!) but I do have some seeds.
Please note--many of these are hybrids and will not likely come true from seed. I am listing the name of the parent plant, but the babies could look very different.
Cassia phyllodinea (Senna artemesioides) Only one on the list that ought to be true from seed!
Polemonium pauciflorum 'Silver Leaf Form'
Seeds from assorted pink Salvias ('Berzerkeley', 'Wild Watermelon', and 'La Trinidad Pink'). These are all planted together and have probably interbred, not to mention that the seeds wouldn't have come true anyway, and I threw all the seeds in one envelope. Pretty good chance at least some of the babies will be pink!
Salvia 'Dancing Dolls' This one wasn't planted near any other salvias, so it would have only crossed with itself, but I still have no idea what the babies will look like
Mystery hollyhock (parent plant is mostly white with pink center, I inherited it with my house so I have no idea what cultivar it is)
I may have seeds from a few other Salvias too (S. serpyllifolia, S. sclarea, S. coccinea 'Brenthurst', S. darcyi) Some of these are straight species, but I have them near other salvias and a lot of them can interbreed so I don't know what the babies will look like.
Got ya on the Cannas Patricia. I'm also bringing you a cutting of Lexy. She's growing, but VERY slowly, so I wanted to wait until she at least had some width.
D-mailing you...
I have loads of crocosmia (orange) and hundreds of seeds from red ones. If I'm in the quarantine can I still bring bulbs and seeds? Also have seeds of ascleapis (sp), digitalis ferruginea. I'll probably have lots of other seeds to bring by then. When and where is it, again?
I would love a cutting of double white Brug!
Oh my gosh Teresa, I have been trying to get my hands on a Lexy for years.
dun1kirk, I'll put your name on CDW.
I don't see any problem with bring bulbs, or seeds...
If any of your are in the quarantined area. Please still free to let me know if there is anything on my list you want, and I will put your name on it. I am always looking for seeds.
Nanarose. What color canna's do you have?
dun1kirk, I would put you down for a double white brug.
Hello everyone,
The Roundup will be in Moraga, CA, at my home. The address and phone number are below:
279 Rheem Blvd.
Moraga, CA 94556
925-235-4314 or
510-541-4843 (cell)
I don't have a trade list yet, but will scope the greenhouse and shadehouse this weekend.
Teresa, I would love Jaime if it's still available.
Patricia, Can you edit your top post to include my address and phone number?
Will put your name on a Jamie, Huck...
Yes, people who are not bringing plants, please do NOT be shy! Ask and you shall receive... ;o)
I won't be able to attend, so unfortunately I have to close my trade list for now. I *might* be able to get some plants to the RU, but I have to figure something out...
Darn Teresa:
Was looking forward to seeing you again.
Yeah, I'm really bummed. I don't suppose anyone would want to push the RU to the week after huh?
Teresa, I am also really bummed that you can't be there. I was looking forward to seeing you again. I am sure we can work something out with the plants.
Patricia
The cursed LBAM is in my area so I can't bring plants although I have plenty of things my landscaper planted AGAINST my wishes. Grrrr.
Seeds I will have:
Echinacea tennessensis "Rocky Top Hybrids" deep pink (some would call it purple)
Echinacea purpurea (both purple and white varieties. Landscaper didn't save the tags so I don't know the cultivars)
"Drama Queen" poppy
a mild chard. It's actually a named variety but I forgot what the woman at the Jack London Farmer's Market called it.
ornamental kale
Hungarian wax pepper (yellow pepper)
blue cornflowers
Nigella damascens
Black hollyhock (again, the landscaper chucked the tags so I don't know the cultivar)
Pale lavender hollyhock (though the tag is missing, there's a good chance it's this one: http://www.anniesannuals.com/plants/plant_display.asp?prodid=502&account=none )
Pennisetum alopecuroides Fountain grass (no tag but it's one of the cultivars that has deep burgundy seed plumes)
Things I'd love to trade for are the plants my landscaper SHOULD have planted:
red currants
white currants
Hinnomaki gooseberry
thimbleberry
I need blue, purple and green blooms that would go well with the front of my house. I'd also like to plant some nice CA (or even more specifically - Bay Area native) wildflowers. I lost a dwarf Tavares Limequat and a standard Bearss lime in our record frosts so I'd be interested in certain dwaft and standard citrus.
Pale lavender hollyhock (though the tag is missing, there's a good chance it's this one: [HYPERLINK@www.anniesannuals.com] )
Went out and looked closely this morning and I"m *sure* that's what it is. Since DG has no pictures but the one from Annie's I took some pictures and will upload them later when I have time. Too bad I didn't take pictures when it was at its peak. It's mostly gone to seed now.
This is what I have to trade so far. The number available is in parenthesis.
Variegated Yucca (3)
Iochroma Australe - white flower (2)
Salvia elegans - AKA Pineapple Sage (1)
Ficus Carica 'Conadria' - Fig (1)
Yellow Clivia seedling (Solomone Yellow X Sir John Thouron) - very small, less than 1 year old (4)
Several Brugmansia, some in 5 gallon pots
Dun1Kirk, I have Candida Double White for you, since Teresa can not make it.
Thank you, thank you, Huckuntod!
I am looking for black nursery pots gallon size and larger, if anyone has some they want to get rid off, or I will trade plants for them.
Thanks, Patricia
If I've gotten around to doing my fall planting by then I may have some (no guarantees I will have done much planting by then though--I can't start planting until I get back from a short vacation at the beginning of the month). I'm in a moth quarantine zone, but I assume if I rinse the pots out it's OK to bring them.
Patricia:
I have lots of pots, 1 gallon and larger.
Wonderful Choke, I actually need pots more than plants right now. I got a little carried away on the number of seedlings I planted this year and now have to overwinter.
I am once again going to miss the RU.Boo. Life is busy when you have a big family. My daughter in laws and grandsons birthday that day. Sorry I have to miss it but they would never forgive me if I missed their birthday especially since the party is at my house.lol

I finally have taken at least a parial inventory of what I can bring
Anemone x hybrida 'Honorine Jobert'
Acanthus mollis - Bear's Breech
sempervivum silverine
Geranium incanum
Canna glauca 'Ra' - Yellow aquatic canna
Colocasia Black Magic
Misc succulents with & without tags
SEED -
Liatris spicata - purple and I think white
Tigridia
Canna glauca 'Ra' - Yellow aquatic canna
Crocosmia 'Lucifer'
Nigella hispanica
Phlomis fruticosa
Mixed annual Morning Glories
Amaryllis belladonna
Asclepsia curassavica
Plants - 5 gallon containers - I will bring only if requested
a couple of large Jade Plants that I rescued from a demolition site. One is 21" and the other 28" tall.
From the same demo site - Large white Callas
A cabernet sauvignon grape - A 25 cent "dead" plant from Lowe's in 2006, that is now thriving in a 5 gallon can.
Fuchsia denticulata 'Strybing Peach' - Very fast grower.
A vigorous Black Walnut in 1 gallon can.
CUTTINGS - if requested
Easter Rose Cactus - Hatiora rosea http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/100676/
Christmas Cactus Schlumbergera x buckleyi - from a 40 year old plant - most of the photos posted on DG are of Schlumbergera truncata. http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/fp.php?pid=1169208
I would love to have
Brugs - Shredded White (TeresaInCal)
and Dr. Seuss (Jerodsmom)
Nigella damascens & "Drama Queen" poppy (Spidra)
I will also bring some pots - I helped a landscape company "clean up" in a new housing tract and got over 100 5 gallon cans.
I'm interested in the red monarda.
Does anyone have spearmint, peppermint and other mints? I hate to pay at the nursery for something so common, but because of the quarantine, I don't feel right asking the local Freecycle list for them. I used to have a couple mints in a planter but 3 years of construction guys dumping all sorts of toxic stuff near my deck killed even these vigorous plants!
As I said before, I'll just be bringing seeds, but I've got some decent ones including two that Annie's Annuals carries that seeded (the Alcea hollyhock and the "Drama Queen" poppy). I've got loads of seed for a chard I forget the name of. I'm not a lover of greens so this strains lack of bitterness is a godsend to me. It seeded like crazy and I've collected a fair clump of it.
Sorry, I don't think I wrote on Althea officinalis. The name does not ring a bell. Edit to say I found this link about making Marshmallows. Just some of my wife's Home Ec background lead me into sticking my nose into that discussion. I do not have any of that plant.
I do have a mint - Not sure what type specifically, as it just showed up. I remember it as the type that seemed to be in every backyard growing up and you put it in your tea. I think Menta spicata, but not sure. More than happy to bring some along.

The mint has been potted up (Hence, my DG name)
I notice I also have
Ledbouris socialis
Louisiana Iris - Handmaiden & Black Gamecock, but labelling is not to be trusted on which one is which.
and seed for Lophospermum erubescens.
I will have seed for Vigna caracalla, but it is not yet ready. I guess we could eat the green beans for lunch, if anyone wanted.
Smells good too. Very interesting flower that I have to share with the ants.
spridra, I have you down for a red monarda.
PotEmUP, I can't attend the RU, but I'd be happy to work out a trade, or I can send you a cutting for postage if you'd like. Dm me...
