This probably is of one of the caterpillars seen around here. Not sure. Look at its long coiled 'tongue'.

Could be, but did you look at the unusually long spiral proboscis?

It's hard to miss!
This skipper "has a long proboscis compared to body size", according to wikipedia

Most Leps have a long proboscis, sometimes 1.5 times their body length. It looks like you caught yours when he was coiling or uncoiling it.

Great picture too!

Doesn't it look like there are two? Normally after eclosing there are two that form into one, maybe yours just emerged.

I think it's doubled up

Do you think they haven't merged or there is something that went wrong?

Follow the curve from the tip, back to its head - the last curl is tight and goes on the left side of its head. I think it's an illusion. I thought it looked funny at first too

Oh duh, it's just another loop! Thanks Claypa...good eye!

Just like people having two tongues! LOL.
