I'm stumped on this damselfly... any ideas?
CLOSED: What type of damselfly?
Love his expression, I think it's one of the Pond Damsels, Genus Enallagma, maybe a Familial Bluet. The thorax on young males or females can be lavendar. The Bluets are hard to id to the species.
Hmmm ... I was looking at the Bluets, but didn't see any blue on this one. Also, he/she was in my garden and not near any water.
Could it be a Dancer of some sort?
It could be a Dancer, and not all the Bluets are blue. The Familial Bluet can be mostly tan with some black markings on thorax and abdomen.

Often the female is scarce at water or wetlands and only appears when ready to breed.
There are some brown form dancers, so I'm not sure.
