Hi, I am in the southern Sierra Nevadas, about 30 miles west of the Mojave desert. I would like to talk with gardeners in a like climate to exchange experiences/ideas. Ann
Any Ca. Gardeners in the Arid Areas?
Hi Tigpie,
You might give the Southwest Gardening Forum a toot. Its arid and hot and the soil is bad here in Arizona. Maybe a community you're looking for. There is lots of fabulous talent and knowledge here that you may want to tap into. Have a look and pop in if it looks like what you're looking for.

Aguane's got a good suggestion. I think there are a couple other people on this forum who live where it's hot & dry, but I think the majority of us who post frequently are from closer to the coast where the climate's a bit more moderate.
I live just East of you in Ridgecrest and welcome discussion on growing in the Mojave climate.
Hey Guys;I don't live in an arid location in CA,however you might want to check out
www.nativeseeds.org/v2/default.php They sell seeds that are traditionally dry-land farmed in the American Southwest.
