This spider comes out only at night. He/she builds a web ... at first close to the ground, but as I have been having to go out alot (bottle feeding puppies)... he/she has moved up higher. Apparently comes out of our Popcorn tree. Fascinating. Just wondered what it is... Danger???? Appears to be just brown. Builds large webs... but they are gone the next morning. Any one know???

Well, from it's body shape and the web construction, my first thought is that it's some type of orb-weaver.
Can you get a picture with more detail of the spider's back? Particularly markings of any kind.
Definitely some kind of orb-weaver - the only danger is to insects that get caught in it's web!
There are many kinds of orb-weavers, and even with a good close-up it can be hard to identify some of them.
I have more pics... he is out every nite... I will try to get closer!!! Thanks
