Brian,
I know how you feel about the weather.... I lost BOTH my English Laurels, 2 Ninebarks and a Monkey Puzzle tree to the drought.
Good news is that all the stuff I bought from you (both last year and this year) survived! (although the Elephant grass isn't looking too good...). The C. Musafolia is a bit on the small side, though (even though it didn't show any other signs of stress from the drought).
A walk around the place 2007 worst year ever!!!
Brian, I hope you get some of the rain they said we're supposed to get up here on Tuesday. I'm right across the river from Cincinnati. I was joking with my mom that we shoulda planted cacti this year!
I believe they would have done very well. It felt like the Tropics this summer in KY. Did you see WILD HOGS movie? Is is it cactuses or cacti LOL
Our cactus garden did great. Many of the larger leaf plants got burnt during the 100+ temps not many plants can handle a month of heat like that with no rain and keep nice looking leaves. The cannas did preform but most were late and not as nice as years past. I have noticed fewer flowers smaller size and less seeds this year than any year before. It's just one of those things that you deal with. I am hoping for a move pretty soon. I am searching for land in Ft Myers area if anyone knows of some good property I am all ears. THANKS
No, didn't see Wild Hogs....is it funny? I will put it on my to-see list!
Ft. Meyers isn't in the hurricane zone, is it? I sure wouldn't wanna live in that zone...
fort meyers is where hurricane charley (charlie?) hit in '04
it is a very beautiful place!
