CLOSED: Ugly Spider ID

Klamath Falls, OR(Zone 6b)

If you knew how much I hate spiders.....but, when I saw this guy I wanted to know what it was. So, please excuse the fuzzy pictures. I forced myself to get as close as I could to get them. It was all I could do to d/l them and adjust the images. I'm not kidding. Anyway, here's my best shots. The body of this guy is as big as my thumb and kind of triangular.

Perhaps a cat-face spider (Araneus gemmoides):

I'm no expert, but did some Web research after one of these guys scared the crap out of me while moving a tree branch behind our shed. The branch was connected to its huge web....

I've never seen one before last week. I found another one against the opposite wall of the same shed....another huge web.

pukface, thanks. That's the closest I've seen yet. Although the markings on the back of mine seem darker, I think you nailed it. So far I haven't bothered it other than checking to see if he/she's still there. He's making his home in the corner of our screen room, but I'm afraid I'm going to have to evict him soon so we can take it down for the winter. Not sure how I'm going to relocate him yet since I HATE spiders. Might have to employ DH or grandson. Thanks again

Your welcome. Good luck with the eviction.
