CLOSED: ID damselfly please?

No. San Diego Co., CA(Zone 10b)

Can anyone ID this damselfly? I checked photos and it looks like some sort of bluet? But the colors are different - couldn't find any with light blue on the outside of the blue stripe. Sorry for the picture quality - they rarely perch, just skim the pond, so no chance of using macro. Two photos.

Corrected color description.

kaperc, those Bluets are a little tricky and complex, almost need to be id'ed in hand.

Where are you saying the white is? On the abdomen or thorax?

Sorry, fly_girl, I meant light blue with the dark in the middle. But you think it is a Bluet? That's really close enough for me - I just want to know what I'm looking at. We had tons of them after some rain yesterday, and occasionally we get swarms of dragon/damselflies, so I thought I'd start looking at them more closely.

Oh, okay, I think it's a bluet, not sure which one though. They are hard to photograph too, because they are so little and fast, aren't they?

Sorry, I misread.....you didn't say white, you said light blue.

The first one I thought looked similar was the Familiar Bluet....with the small comma shaped eyes. But there are at least 35 species of Bluets, so not sure.

That's close enough. You were right - I edited the message to the correct description. Sorry for the confusion. :-) I've never been around these critters before, so I'm starting from scratch.

We don't have any shade around our pond yet, so we just walk around it a few times a day unless we're planting or something. Some day we'll be able to sit with the camera and wait until they sit still for a sec and we'll get to see them better. :-)

Thanks.
