The only thing I've seen similar to this are katydids, but this is different.

Along with grasshoppers, crickets, and katydids (in the order Orthoptera) there's a family of 'tree crickets' called Oecanthidae. Pretty sure this is a tree cricket - look at the genus Oecanthus:

I was looking for an ID for this one too. My bug looks a little different, but pretty similar. Don't remember ever having seen these before.
