CLOSED: Chinese Mantid?

This big guy has been hanging around the front of the house for a week now. Everything I read says he shouldn't be in this area. Have I misidentified him? He is over 3 inches long.

This seems to be a mantid year here. While working outside today I spotted at least 5 more. Some like this one and some all green in color. They sure are big!

I don't think there is any problem with the area. BugGuide says

Thanks Kennedy. The reference I was using at home had the range North of here. I know it sure looked like one to me.
