CLOSED: HUGE caterpillar !!

Louisville, KY

Is this a type of cabbage loper or a butterfly caterpillar? I have two and they ate hot peppers! - and the plant too. It is the biggest thing I have ever seen. Gross really!! HUGE!!! bigger than my two thumbs put together!!!! I did not think they got that big!!

It looks like a sphinx moth larva of some kind, maybe a tobacco hornworm?

Wow I googled both of them. They look very similar! I think it might be the tobacco hornworm, the other has such a long hook it seemed.
Thank you so much, I actually made them into fish bait for eating my plant.....shhhhhhh

You could probably bait ten hooks with one of those things. The tobacco hornworm is one of the many Sphinx Moths. I'm sure there are other green ones, it's just hard to tell from the picture
