Had found this bug hanging out on the back of a car tire, it is quit large, it's insides are gone...........it's just a shell. It has pinchers on the front of it, and was wondering if it was known to pinch humans. I had never seen an insect like this in my life, and was also wondering were they usualy hang out
I believe that is the molt of a cicada. When it comes out of the ground, it emerges from this exoskeleton to become an adult. Here's more information on them:
