I have 4 boston terriers and live in rural area where everybodies dogs(but mine) are allowed to roam. So it might be dogs using it? Will it recover? I don't let my dogs out in the front yard any more because of all the loose dogs.

The green parts look healthy enough, though you might find it will grow up a rather odd multi-stem shape. Maybe when it gets a bit larger, prune it to a single central leader. Put a small fence round it to keep the dogs away.

Maybe I could prune out the middle then try to tie together the remaining until it stays put more to the center.
